Despite the approaching summer, more Chinese ferro-alloy markets have extended their strength on the back of tight fundamentals such as steep production cuts and increasing raw material costs. China’s ferro-alloys production slipped by 4.6% year on year to 7.2786 million tonnes in the first five years, which is unusual in recent years. The country’s annual output is estimated to drop to around 14 million tonnes this year from 18.25 million tonnes produced in 2008.
