LONDON (Metal-Pages) 20-Nov-09. The aerospace industry is "not out of the woods yet," according to the chief operating officer of Airbus, which beat Boeing more than five to one in terms of orders booked at this week's Dubai Airshow. Airbus won 15 firm contracts and 18 commitments worth $5.3 billion, against two orders worth $800 million for 737 from Algerian airlines announced by Boeing. Between them, the world's two biggest commercial aircraft manufacturers, announced orders and commitments for 44 planes, less than a tenth of the orders for some 458 planes booked at the previous Dubai airshow two year ago, which were worth about $75 billion.
