Initiative to trace DRC mineral supply chain moves to next stage

LONDON (Metal-Pages) 19-Mar-10. The initiative to improve the transparency of the mineral supply chain in the Democratic Republic of Congo by tin industry group ITRI has moved to its second stage. Following the implementation of the first phase of a comprehensive due diligence plan for tin minerals exported from the DC Rin July 2009, ITRI today anounced the immediate start of a Phase 2 pilot trial which will begin to track minerals and provide verifiable provenance information from individual mine sites in eastern DRC.
