Global airplane fleet is forecast to grow by 3.3% a year on average over next two decades, to 36,300 planes in 2029, according to the latest Current Market Outlook released by Boeing to coincide with the Farnborough Airshow in the UK this week. The forecast, covering the period between 2009 and 2029 projects delivery of 30,900 new airplanes over the next 20 years, valued at $3.6 trillion.
